2012 Update

Nearly two years I created this blog/website to showcase my graduate and teaching work. Since then, I have used it as my teaching portfolio and have mostly updated it for conferences I’ve presented at and to change items on my vita and teaching portfolio.

Well, this summer, my website is getting a face lift! I purchased a new design to freshen up the look, and I am completely reorganizing content . I am so excited about this process because it is giving me a chance to really think about the work I do as a writer, teacher, and citizen scholar!

And this year marks another change with this website: showcasing more writing and reflection through the blogging tools.  In the past 6 months I joined the Editorial Freelancer’s Association (EFA) and began freelance work as a writer and editor. It has really revitalized and renewed my commitment to the teaching of writing. As a teacher (and as a mother of 2, wife, daughter, sister… you get the idea!), I often don’t have much time to write, but I realized recently how important it is for me to write, if even briefly, and share that here.  So my commitment is to post at least 2 times a month, an dI hope to use the posts as a chance to share my own writing with my students and to reflect on my craft (of teaching, writing, researching, etc…).

So if you are just logging onto my website for the first time, you will find a number of pages still under construction. Continue to check back as I work to update and make changes to the site. Thanks!
